​​​​​​The Department of Financial Institutions is the office of record for domestic and foreign business and nonprofit corporations, cooperatives, limited partnerships, limited liability companies, and limited liability partnerships. We are not, however, a registry for all businesses in the state of Wisconsin. There are many sole proprietors and general partnerships doing business in the state and they may not be registered with any state agency. That being said, we offer elements of our database information for purchase on an incidental or recurring basis.
