Public Meetings

The Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) hosts public meetings of the following attached boards, councils, or committees:

  • The Banking Institutions Review Board, which advises the agency on banks and the banking business, establishes the annual assessment for state banks, and hears appeals of agency acts and decisions with respect to banks. This board typically meets annually in the spring, though special meetings may be scheduled as necessary to address appeals or other intervening issues.
  • The College Savings Program Board, which administers the state’s college savings program plans (Edvest and Tomorrow’s Scholar). This board typically meets quarterly.
  • The Credit Union Review Board, which advises the agency on matters affecting credit unions, establishes the annual assessment for state credit unions, and hears appeals of agency acts and decisions with respect to credit unions. This board typically meets quarterly.
  • The Equity and Inclusion Committee, an intra-agency body that advises the agency on efforts to ensure equal opportunity to all employees, applicants for employment, and clients of the agency. This committee typically meets quarterly.
  • The Governor’s Council on Financial Literacy and Capability, which advises the agency and the Office of the Governor on ways to improve the financial literacy, capability, and financial inclusion of the people of Wisconsin. This council typically meets four to eight times per year and includes four subcommittees, which also hold regular public meetings.
  • The Remote Notary Council, which advises the agency on matters affecting remote online notarization and reviews technology providers seeking authorization to make their products available for use by Wisconsin notaries. This council typically meets four to eight times per year, which varies depending on the volume of new technology provider applications.
