The Licensed Financial Services section of the Division of Banking regulates collection agencies, community currency exchanges, sales finance companies, adjustment service companies, sellers of checks, insurance premium finance companies, nondepository small business lenders and payday lenders. It also regulates motor vehicle dealers and recreational vehicle dealers that originate retail installment sales contracts and consumer leases.
Licensees
- Loan Companies: Assess interest in excess of 18% per year on consumer loans
- Sellers of Checks: Transmit money and/or sell or issue checks, including money orders, traveler's checks and prepaid cards
